RESUMÉ
Professional
Info
I have a Bachelor of Interior Design from Vancouver Island University, and six years of experience in the Interior Design industry. I am looking for a role in commercial design which will utilize my strengths, and at the same time provide new challenges where I may continue to grow. My main areas of experience have been in retail and dental office design, and I hope my next position will bring opportunities to use these skills and also to work on projects in other specialties of commercial interior design. I completed my NCIDQ certification in 2017; my next certification goal is to complete the LEED Green Associate and LEED AP ID+C exams.
Work
Experience
Intermediate Interior Designer, Sinclair Dental Co.
2017 - present
Specializing in dental office design, at Sinclair I work through the life cycle of construction projects from concept through to completion. I produce technical drawing packages and detailing of custom millwork designs. I collaborate with clients to execute their vision, and provide support in the tender process, as well as budget optimization.
Store Designer, Best Buy Canada
2015 - 2017
As a Store Designer at Best Buy, I created designs for large retail interiors, with a focus on modular fixtures and displays. I used 3D modeling to communicate design concepts to external vendors and other teams across the business. Most notably, I worked on the design of 14 new Best Buy ‘flagship’ stores which were built/renovated in 2015-16.
Store Planner, Best Buy Canada
2014 - 2105
Played a key role in retail space planning, dealing both with stores' physical layouts, as well as product placement and sales strategies. Implemented routine maintenance changes to store plans and organization, as well as rollouts of major changes to store layouts across approximately 250 stores.
Design Coordinator, Chintz & Company
2012 - 2014
At Chintz & Company, I managed the inventory of Interior Design department in the Yaletown store. I dealt with shipping and receiving between store locations and the distribution centre. I worked extensively with fabrics, custom upholstery and drapery.
Junior Designer, Kenorah Design and Construction
2012
At Kenorah, I assisted our lead designers with high-end residential projects - I selected finishes, lighting, plumbing, cabinetry and other fixtures. I worked on presentation and construction drawings and dealt with specifications, ordering, and scheduling of sub-trades for projects.
